AIG Math Teacher

Job Summary Sampson Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for mathematics and excel in their academic pursuits. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, implementing engaging lesson plans, and using innovative teaching methods to meet students' diverse needs. Responsibilities - Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote critical thinking skills. - Teach a range of math subjects, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics, to students in grades 6-9. - Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and class participation. - Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and collaboration. - Provide individualized support and tutoring to students who may be struggling with mathematical concepts. - Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives. - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress. - Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices. - Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or tutoring programs. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field - Valid state teaching certification in Mathematics for grades 6-9. - Proven experience teaching math at the high school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum standards. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. - Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences. - Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment. - A passion for mathematics and a desire to inspire students to achieve their full potential.
