Certified School Nurse

Gateway School District is anticipating hiring a Certified School nurse for the 2026-27 school year. This position is covered under the Gateway Education Association's Collective Bargaining Agreement, and follows the Teacher's calendar. Required Certifications & Clearances Valid & Current PA School Nurse Certification Act 34 PA State Police Criminal Record Act 114 Federal Criminal Record (FBI Fingerprinting) Act 151 PA State Child Abuse History Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist in the planning of a good school health program Assume leadership role in identifying those students with health needs that interfere with effective learning Assist in familiarizing the teachers, parents, and children with the health policies of the school Direct the health program and services in the buildings to which they are assigned Set up and maintain first aid supplies and equipment in all schools Administer major first aid Assist in the development of new approaches to the improvement of the school health program Coordinate their activities with the educational program in the various buildings to which they are assigned Work Cooperatively with building principals & teachers in the administration of the health program Serve as a resource person and consultant for both school personnel
