Infant and Toddler Teacher ($60,000+)
Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for an Infant and Toddler Teacher for the 2026 - 2027 school year. Working under the direction of the Special Education Director and Supervisor, the successful candidate will provide service coordination, early intervention instruction, and support to children with developmental delays from birth through age four and their families. This position works collaboratively with families, related service providers, community agencies, and Special Education staff to develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), coordinate appropriate services, and support the transition from early intervention to school-based services. DUTIES: Provide service coordination for children and families participating in the Infants and Toddlers Program and Extended IFSP Program; Conduct home visits and serve as the primary contact for children and families throughout the referral, intake, assessment, and IFSP development process; Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs); Coordinate early intervention services and collaborate with families, related service providers, educators, and community agencies to support children's developmental needs; Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements, including Medical Assistance documentation and procedural safeguards; Monitor IFSP timelines, schedule required reviews, and maintain accurate case management records using the MSDE/MOIEP online IFSP system; Coordinate transition activities to ensure continuity of services as children move from early intervention to school-based programs; Collaborate with the Special Education Office Social Worker to obtain necessary medical records and supporting documentation; Assist with program reporting, data collection, and grant-related activities in coordination with the Special Education Director and Supervisor; Participate in professional development activities and represent the Special Education Department on advisory boards, councils, and community initiatives as requested; Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Special Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education; Possess a valid state teaching certificate in Special Education with an Early Childhood endorsement, or willingness to pursue the endorsement; Have three or more years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities and families from diverse backgrounds; Demonstrate knowledge of early childhood development, early intervention services, and effective instructional practices for children from birth through age four; Possess knowledge of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), service coordination, and applicable federal and state special education requirements; Ability to provide developmentally appropriate instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education strategies; Knowledge of behavioral and developmental interventions to support children's growth and learning; Proficiency in technology, data management, and recordkeeping systems used in early intervention programs; Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data and prepare required reports and documentation; Ability to communicate and work effectively with administrators, colleagues, related service providers, families, and community agencies; Ability to travel to family homes throughout Dorchester County and attend professional meetings and activities as required; and Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and human relations skills.
