Director of Operations (Facilities) Reports To: Business Administrator Shape the Future of Our Learning Environments! Are you an experienced, proactive facilities leader passionate about creating safe, top-quality environments for students and staff? Exeter Township School District is looking for a dynamic Director of Operations to direct district-wide facilities maintenance, grounds, and custodial operations. In this high-impact role, you will lead a dedicated team to keep our schools clean, safe, efficient, and fully operational every day. Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and supervise maintenance, grounds, and custodial personnel. Facilities & Systems Oversight: Manage preventative maintenance, repairs, emergency response, and critical building systems (HVAC, boilers, fire/intrusion alarms, generators, elevators). Safety & Best Practices: Address safety concerns across all district sites, enforce safety protocols, and ensure safe chemical/tool handling. Financial & Resource Management: Prepare and manage the facilities budget, track work orders, and maintain equipment/supply inventories. Grounds & Community Coordination: Oversee groundskeeping, snow removal operations, event setups/teardowns, and community use of district facilities. What We're Looking For Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required (High School diploma required). Experience: 4 to 5 years of experience in maintenance and custodial services, with demonstrated supervisory experience. Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, regulatory codes, and core trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting). Leadership & Communication: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, administrators, and the public.
