HACKENSACK PUBLIC SCHOOLS ESSA HIGH IMPACT TUTOTING TEACHERS 2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR Title: ESSA Funded High Impact Tutoring Teachers - (Internal Only) Math Tutors: Eight (8) tutors, with one (1) serving as Lead Tutor ELA Tutors: Eight (8) tutors, with one (1) serving as Lead Tutor Hackensack Middle School is seeking interested staff members to serve as tutors for the High Impact Tutoring Program in Mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA). The program will consist of three (3) five week cycles of targeted, data driven small group instruction focused on identified student needs, priority standards and skills, and progress toward grade level expectations. High Impact Tutor Will Participate in an initial orientation and program meetings. Provide targeted small group instruction in Mathematics or ELA. Use student data to plan and differentiate instruction. Deliver instruction using approved materials aligned with district curriculum and grade level standards. Administer required pre and post assessments and progress monitoring measures. Maintain attendance records, lesson plans, student progress data, and required program documentation. Collaborate with the Lead Tutor regarding student progress, attendance, and instructional needs. Document all tutoring hours on approved timesheets. Lead Tutor Will In addition to serving as a High Impact Tutor, the Lead ELA Tutor and Lead Math Tutor will each: Coordinate program implementation for their respective content area. Facilitate orientation and data meetings with tutors. Support tutors with instructional materials, priority standards, differentiated instruction, assessments, and progress monitoring. Create and maintain student rosters and monitor attendance. Maintain pre and post assessment data and compile cumulative program results. Monitor student growth and program effectiveness. Work collaboratively with the building administrator and other Lead Tutor to support program implementation and required reporting. Qualifications Appropriate New Jersey certification in the applicable content area. Currently employed by Hackensack Public Schools. Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and differentiated instruction. Experience working successfully with middle school students and using student data to inform instruction. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively. Strong organization and classroom management skills. Previous experience with academic intervention or tutoring programs preferred. Working Conditions On site at Hackensack Middle School during the 2026�2027 school year. Three (3) five week tutoring cycles. Tutoring will take place after school on designated program days. Tutors will work no more than 30 hours total across all three cycles. Lead Tutors will also serve as tutors and receive five (5) additional hours for lead responsibilities, up to a maximum of 35 hours total.
