Ho-Ho-Kus Public School District Long-Term Leave Replacement Teacher: Middle School Mathematics Position Type: Long-Term Leave Replacement (Non-Tenure Track) Grade Levels: Middle School (Grades 6 through 8) Anticipated Start Date: 12/15/26 Anticipated End Date:5/15/27 Reports To: Principal About the District Ho-Ho-Kus Public School District is a PreK through 8 single-school district in Bergen County, New Jersey, serving approximately 580 students. Our school community is known for its strong academic tradition, engaged families, and commitment to ensuring every child is both challenged and supported. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated mathematics educator to provide continuity of instruction for our middle school students during an anticipated leave of absence. Position Summary The Long-Term Leave Replacement Teacher will assume full instructional responsibilities for an assigned middle school mathematics schedule. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, maintain a positive and structured learning environment, and work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student growth throughout the leave period. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and the district's adopted curriculum Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 plans Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor progress, adjust instruction, and inform student placement Maintain accurate grading and attendance records in the district's student information system Communicate regularly and professionally with families about student progress Collaborate with the mathematics team, special services staff, and administration Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as scheduled Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent Qualifications Valid New Jersey instructional certificate (CE, CEAS, or Standard) as Teacher of Mathematics or Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization: Mathematics Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Strong content knowledge in middle school mathematics, including pre-algebra and algebra Experience with differentiated instruction and data-informed teaching preferred Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills Commitment to a student-centered, collaborative school culture Salary and Terms Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, per the negotiated agreement between the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education and the Ho-Ho-Kus Education Association, and prorated for the length of the assignment. This is a non-tenure track position. The assignment does not create an expectation of continued employment beyond the leave period.
