General Statement of Duties CodeRVA Regional High School seeks an individual to provide in person classroom instruction to students enrolled in Dual Enrollment courses through Reynolds Community College. The potential subject areas for the position vary by time of year. The selected candidate will be willing to build individual relationships with a diverse student body with a range of learning needs. Essential Duties • Uses Reynolds Community College Canvas platform and instructional materials to deliver in-person instruction to students • Takes attendance daily and maintains accurate records. • Maintains accurate student academic records. • Maintains order within the instructional setting in accordance with school guidelines regarding student behavior management. • Communicate regularly and professionally with students and staff. • Use Google products (Documents, Sheets, Slides, etc.) with proficiency. • Ensure compliance with existing applicable federal and state statutes and local policies, regulations and guidelines related to public schools. • Regular attendance is required Additional Information This position pays $1100.00 per credit hour. Minimum Requirements • Must have a master’s degree or 18 Graduate Credits in the one of the following subject areas: • History (to teach Dual Enrollment HIS 121 United States History to 1877, a three-credit class) • For the 2026-27 school year there is one Spring 2027 section held Monday through Friday in the morning from 8:50-9:52 AM. The first day of classes is January 19, 2027, and the last day is April 22, 2027. Students are high school Juniors. • Mathematics (to teach Dual Enrollment MTH 154 Quantitative Reasoning for Spring 2027, a three-credit class) • For the 2026-27 school year there is one section held Monday through Friday in the morning from 8:50-9:52 AM. The first day of classes is January 19, 2027, and the last day is April 22, 2027. Students are high school Juniors. One individual could teach both math classes (MTH 154 and MTH 263) for half a day. • Mathematics (to teach Dual Enrollment MTH 263 Calculus 1 for Spring 2027, a four-credit class). • For the 2026-27 school year there is one section held Monday through Friday in the morning and afternoon from 9:56-10:58 AM. The first day of classes is January 20, 2026, and the last day is April 23, 2026. Students are high school Juniors. One individual could teach both math classes (MTH 154 and MTH 263) for half a day. • Biology (to teach Dual Enrollment BIO 102 General Biology II for Spring 2027, a four-credit class). • For the 2026-27 school year there is one section held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the morning from 8:50-10:58 AM. The first day of classes is January 20, 2026, and the last day is April 23, 2026. Students are high school Seniors. • English (to teach Dual Enrollment ENG 246 American Literature for Spring 2027, a three-credit class) • For the 2026-27 school year there are two sections held Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first section would meet from 8:50 - 10:58, then a break and the second section would meet from 12:48 - 2:56. The first day of classes is January 20, 2026, and the last day is April 23, 2026. Students are high school Seniors. • Experience in teaching or other educational settings (high school, community college or college/university settings) is preferred. • The selected candidate must also be approved by Reynolds Community College using their internal criteria.
