DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES Position Overview Exeter Township School District is seeking an experienced, student-centered Director of Human Resources to lead our district-wide human resources strategy, operations, and contract negotiations. The Director of Human Resources serves as a key member of the Superintendent's Cabinet, overseeing recruitment, retention, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, compliance, and compensation across all certificated and classified personnel. Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & Staffing: Lead strategic recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes to attract and retain high-quality educators, administrators, and support staff. Labor & Employee Relations: Serve as the district's primary liaison/chief negotiator in collective bargaining; manage grievance processes, contract administration, and staff investigations. Compliance & Policy: Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, Title IX, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and state educator credentialing/licensure standards. Performance Management: Oversee and enhance evaluation frameworks for certificated and classified employees; advise administrators on performance improvement plans (PIPs) and disciplinary actions. Benefits & Compensation: Manage salary schedules, position classifications, and district benefit programs in coordination with the Business Services division. Title IX Coordination: Facilitate Title IX investigations and ensure staff receive appropriate Title IX training Records & HRIS Operations: Supervise the HR department staff, oversee the HR Information System (HRIS), and maintain confidential personnel records and credentialing tracking. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree or SHRM-SCP/SPHR certification preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within K–12 public education or the broader public sector Knowledge & Skills:Demonstrated knowledge of public-school finance, state education codes, and collective bargaining processes. Proven leadership in conflict resolution, employee relations, and organizational development. Strong communication, collaborative problem-solving, and data-informed decision-making skills.
