ESL Teacher (Anticipated)
Job Summary: Implement the curriculum as aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards; Utilize second language development theory, comprehensible input and output and apply it to daily instruction in four language domains; Differentiate academic and linguistic instruction for students at varying levels of attainment; Prepare and implement lessons that provide meaningful learning experiences for students; Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff; Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required; Prove a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus; Create a stimulating, and aesthetically welcoming, organized, functional, healthy, and safe classroom; Perform non-instructional duties with timeliness and accuracy; Attend professional development sessions in order to further advance professional practice; Continue to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences; Maintain a reflective teaching practice. Qualifications: New Jersey ESL and Bilingual Certification required; Familiarity with the use of instructional technology and differentiated instruction; Knowledge of effective/creative instructional strategies; Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility; Ability to collaborate with colleagues.
