Qualifications: Active PA Special Education certification is required. Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required. Description: The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. This position will be an Emotional Support Teacher, Long Term Substitute providing specialized instruction, assessment, and support services to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), district curriculum, Pennsylvania academic standards, and applicable federal and state laws. This position develops and implements instructional strategies, accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports to promote student academic achievement, functional skill development, independence, and successful participation in the educational environment. The Emotional Support Teacher, Long Term Substitute collaborates with students, families, staff, and related service providers to support student growth and educational success in inclusive and specialized settings. Responsibilities:Develops and implements instructional programs and specially designed instruction in accordance with student IEPs, district curriculum, and Pennsylvania academic standards. Provides direct instruction, intervention, and support services to students with disabilities in individual, small-group, classroom, and specialized instructional settings, as appropriate. Develops, monitors, and maintains IEPs, progress reports, evaluation information, and related special education documentation in accordance with IDEA, Chapter 14, and district procedures. Assesses student performance and progress using formal and informal assessment methods to guide instructional planning and intervention. Implements accommodations, modifications, assistive technology, and behavioral supports to support student access and participation in the educational environment. Collaborates with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, instructional assistants, counselors, and families regarding student instructional programming and support needs. Participates in IEP meetings, reevaluation meetings, manifestation determination meetings, MTSS meetings, Section 504 meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings, as appropriate. Develops and maintains a safe, respectful, structured, and supportive learning environment conducive to student success. Supports implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), behavioral interventions, and social-emotional learning initiatives, as appropriate. Communicates effectively with students, families, administrators, staff, and outside agencies regarding student progress, instructional needs, and educational planning.
