Speech Language Pathologist

The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse school community in Somerset County serving approximately 3,700 students in Pre-K through Grade 12, is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist. Performance Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Evaluate, identify, and provide speech-language therapy services to students in Pre-K through Grade 8. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, administrators, and families to provide a multidisciplinary approach to student support. Provide services to students at Wharton Borough Public Schools and affiliated preschool centers located a short distance from the district. Maintain accurate documentation, therapy records, and progress reports. Participate in Child Study Team meetings, IEP meetings, evaluations, and other multidisciplinary planning sessions. Utilize evidence-based practices to support students with a variety of communication needs, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, pragmatic language, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) when appropriate. Conduct screenings, evaluations, and reevaluations in accordance with district procedures and New Jersey state regulations. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and recommendations . Qualifications New Jersey Speech Language Specialist School Certification required. Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility to obtain. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills. Experience working with preschool and school-age students is preferred. Salary Range & Benefits 69,630 (minimum) to 103,470 (maximum) commensurate with experience and in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
