Health Occupations Teacher

The candidate for this Health Occupations Teacher position plans and teaches core medical knowledge, hands-on clinical techniques, and professional workplace skills, following the scope and sequence for all courses; provides instruction to students in a variety of planned courses; provides the use of real life applications and simulations to instruct students in the analysis and interpretation of material presented; instructs the use of tools, materials, processes and applications of technology, including pertinent software applications, in the development of lessons; and uses formal and informal classroom and district assessments. Minimum Requirements: A valid Pennsylvania Career and Technical Instructional I or II (Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences) certificate or a willingness to attain certification or be willing to attain certification. To attain certification applicant needs to enroll in a Health Related Technology Certification Program in an approved teacher education institution and have one of the following: a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing AND currently licensed as an RN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any license/certified healthcare professional who has a minimum of a Bachelor's degree AND is currently licensed/certified in their field of practice, or is a Currently licensed Practical Nurse AND has passed the Health Assisting Occupational Competency Assessment Must have 4 years of wage earning experience in the occupation. An Act 34 Criminal History Clearance Report, an Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance Report, an FBI Fingerprint Clearance Report, and a pre-employment drug test are necessary, along with all other required employment forms.
