Job Title: Spanish Teacher Reports To: Building Principal and Supervisor of World Languages Job Purpose: To plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. Qualifications-Required: NJ Teaching Certificate for Spanish (Standard, CEAS, CE) Highly Qualified in the target language Successful completion of Praxis Test Oral Proficiency Interview Rating of Advanced Low or Higher Bilingual & Biliterate English/Spanish Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills Excellent classroom management Ability to assess levels of student learning Able to engage and motivate students Able to differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of students in the class Able to pass the Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Able to pass the Criminal History Review Qualifications-Desired: Experience teaching high school age students Knowledge of ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines Experience teaching World Language for proficiency Proficiency using authentic resources to engage students Experience using Integrated Performance Assessments Experience analyzing data in PLCs Proficiency using Google Classroom & PearDeck Knowledge of Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teachers Duties/Responsibilities: Motivates students to use the target language on a daily basis Maintains a high level of student engagement in the target language Uses technology in the classroom to help students connect with the target cultures Readies materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson at the start of the lesson or instructional activity Establishes procedures that govern the handling of routine administrative matters Maintains clear and reasonable work standards and due dates Provides timely feedback to students on assignments and assessments to promote educational growth Uses diagnostic information obtained from formative assessments to revise learning tasks Treats all students in a fair and equitable manner Maintains a classroom environment that is safe and conducive for student learning Working Conditions: School Building Classroom 10-Month Contract Prorated Salary range of $60,141 (BA, Step 1) to $104,512 (DOC, Step 13) Medical and Dental Benefits Pension membership in TPAF Physical Requirements: (The physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions.
