Preschool/Elementary Special Education Teacher (ERI)– Tenure Track

POSITION: ERI Preschool/Elementary Special Education Teacher � Tenure Track LOCATION: William Mason Elementary School REPORTS TO: Building Principal / Director of Special Services START DATE: Immediately JOB SUMMARY: The Montville Township Public School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated educator to serve as an ERI Preschool/Elementary Special Education Teacher at William Mason Elementary School. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), applicable New Jersey Department of Education requirements, and District policies and procedures. The teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, families, and other members of the educational team to develop and implement appropriate instructional and behavioral supports. The successful candidate will establish a structured, positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that supports the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs of students. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities and/or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification required, as appropriate to the assignment. Valid New Jersey Preschool through Grade 2 (P-2) certification required. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training and/or experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, and/or social-emotional needs preferred. Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral, instructional, assessment, and classroom-management practices. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement differentiated instruction and appropriate supports for students with disabilities. Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and classroom-management skills. Ability to establish positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate structure, expectations, and professional boundaries. Commitment to providing an equitable, inclusive, and student-centered educational experience. Training or experience in crisis intervention methodologies preferred. Successful completion of all required New Jersey public school employment requirements, including criminal history background check pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.1 and applicable medical/TB requirements. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Salary Range: $60,702 � $110,232 annually (BA Step 1 through MA+30 Step 17), in accordance with the current Montville Township Education Association (MTEA) negotiated salary guide. Actual placement on the guide depends upon verified educational credentials and applicable teaching experience. Tenure Track: This is a full-time, tenure-track teaching position subject to applicable New Jersey tenure laws and the terms of the MTEA collective bargaining agreement.
