Assistant Director of Pupil Services
Description: Eastern Lebanon County School District (ELCO) is seeking a student-centered, collaborative, and knowledgeable Assistant Director of Pupil Services to partner with the Director of Pupil Services in strengthening programs and services that support students across the District. This district-level leadership position has a strong focus on special education while also supporting the broader work of Pupil Services, including gifted education, psychological services, school counseling, social work, health services, attendance and educational stability, alternative education, and other assigned student-support programs. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with sound judgment, relationshipbuilding, clear communication, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in education, special education, pupil/student services, or educational leadership. Valid Pennsylvania Principal PK-12 administrative certificate, Superintendent Letter of Eligibility, or another Pennsylvania credential that PDE determines is appropriate for the duties assigned to this position. Minimum of five years of successful professional experience in public education, including substantial experience supporting students with disabilities and/or pupil services programs. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and Pennsylvania requirements governing special education and student services, including IDEA/Chapter 14, Section 504, McKinney Vento, etc. Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, communicate with, and build productive relationships among staff, administrators, families, and outside community partners. Current Pennsylvania school employment clearances and required trainings. Certification in: Pennsylvania Supervisor of Special Education PK-12 and/or Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services PK-12 certification. Administrative or supervisory experience in special education, pupil services, or a comparable district-level role. Experience supervising or evaluating professional and support staff. Experience with special education compliance monitoring, IEP facilitation, dispute resolution, out-of-district placements, ESY, transition services, and/or state reporting. Experience designing and leading professional learning and building staff capacity. Experience using student and program data to evaluate outcomes and improve systems. Experience developing productive family and community partnerships and coordinating services across multiple community agencies.
