Career Support Specialist

We’re seeking a dedicated Career Support Specialist to help Lebanon School District students build the skills and confidence they need to be Employed, Enlisted, and/or Enrolled. In this role, you’ll collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and administrators to provide individualized and group career coaching, guide students through post-secondary pathways, and develop practical college and career readiness skills. Through instructional strategies, technology, and meaningful connections with colleges, career programs, and local industry, you’ll help students prepare for their next steps beyond high school. What Success Looks Like: Helping students identify their interests, aptitudes, and career goals through individual and group coaching Guiding students in developing resumes, application essays, and professional interview skills Supporting students as they explore college, trade, vocational, and workforce opportunities Providing practical workshops focused on professional communication, financial literacy, networking, and other career-readiness skills Building strong partnerships with school staff, families, alumni, colleges, and local industry professionals Required Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree Appropriate Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification Proven communication and instructional strategies Strong classroom management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Enhanced knowledge of instruction Your Impact: As our Career Support Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to: Conduct individual and group career coaching sessions using Smart Futures Help students prepare resumes, application essays, and professional interviews Guide students through four key pathways: four-year universities, community colleges, vocational/trade programs, and direct workforce entry Assist with career-readiness workshops, career panels, and guest speaker sessions Collaborate with counselors, teachers, administrators, and parents to align career planning with academic progress Provide basic guidance on financial aid resources, FAFSA, trade grants, and local scholarships Maintain accurate student career-readiness data and confidentiality Assist with or coordinate field trips to colleges and career programs What We Offer: Competitive salary based on education and experience (Lebanon Education Association collective bargaining agreement) Comprehensive benefits package, as applicable to the position Opportunities to make a direct impact on students’ college and career readiness Collaboration with educators, counselors, administrators, families, and community partners A supportive environment focused on preparing students for successful futures Work Environment: You’ll work collaboratively with students, teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to support college and career readiness. The role is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, and work with a keyboard and video display terminal.
