School Counselor
Qualifications: NJ School Counselor Certification Strong communication, confidentiality and active listening skills Ability to provide socio-emotional and academic counseling to groups and individuals Crisis intervention and problem solving when appropriate Ability to build positive relationships with students and families Knowledge of social and emotional learning and adolescent development Serve on Student Success Team to identify students who may need targeted supports Extra duties as assigned by the building Principal Salary: $60,653 - $115,891 per year. Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, and Dental Benefits. Sick, Personal and Bereavement Days are included All alternate route candidates ("Certificate of Eligibility) must show completion of 50 hours of pre-service training through a DOE approved CE educator program prior to being interviewed for a position. The certificate of completion must be uploaded into the AppliTrack portal in order for alternate route candidates to be considered. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
