We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and student-centered educational leader to serve as our Director of Student Services. What You'll Do The Director of Student Services shall be responsible for providing K-12 leadership and collaboration in the areas of Student Assistance Services and Instructional Program Support; Special Education and Gifted; Psychological, Guidance and Counseling Services; Prevention & School Climate; Nursing and Health Services; Student Attendance and Records; and Homeless Education to promote student well-being. Education, Training, and ExperienceMaster's degree required; Doctorate preferred in related field A valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in special education and/or a supervisory/principal certificate or Letter of Eligibility Five (5) years administrative experience; Prior experience as a school-level administrator preferred Demonstrated leadership in special education Strong knowledge of laws, best practices, and compliance in student services Experience with MTSS, SEL, and school-based mental health systems Demonstrated ability to lead systems-level change and to build collaborative teams Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a member of the Superintendent's cabinet, contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement of the district. Responsible for budgeting, fiscal responsibility, and compliance in all areas of student services. Support the Safety & Security team as the leader of threat/risk assessments. Responsible for all aspects of student assistance services including SEL programming. Supervise the program of social services, attendance services, and child accounting in the district's schools. Coordinate behavioral MTSS and mental health supports within the MTSS model. Provide leadership for all aspects of special education programs including Gifted and Related Services. Oversee home education and homebound students. Act as liaison and district representative with the Chester County Intermediate Unit and other outside agencies in providing special education programs, including the screening, assessment, and placement of district students in other public and private schools. Responsible for all aspects of district psychological services. Direct and oversee all aspects of guidance and counseling programs. Develop and implement all multi-year long-range plans related to guidance and counseling services (339 Plan). Leadership over all aspects of student nursing and health services. Oversee all aspects of student attendance, beginning with the registration process, and including developing supports to reduce truancy. Responsible for all aspects of student records. Develop policies and procedures for the Collection, Maintenance and Dissemination of Records. Responsible for all aspects and requirements of homeless education to ensure access to school. Collaborate with appropriate staff to determine eligibility for McKinney-Vento mandated services.
