OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCY Academic Interventionist - ELA Grades K-3 The above tenure position is available for the 2026-2027 school year starting on or before October 15, 2026. Qualifications: NJ Elementary Teaching Certificate required NJ Reading Specialist preferred Familiar with administering Universal Screeners and interpreting data Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience preferred Knowledge of effective literacy interventions for struggling readers Orton-Gillingham and/or Wilson Level 1 certification preferred Proficient in using student data to inform instruction and monitor progress Job Goals: Identify academically at-risk students and provide targeted interventions Deliver prescriptive, research-based literacy instruction Support teachers by modeling effective reading strategies and Tier 2 interventions Instruct small groups of students to address identified academic needs Collaborate with staff to develop and share instructional resources Provide high-quality instruction to help students reach grade-level proficiency Performance Responsibilities: Assess instructional levels and develop appropriate Tier 1 interventions for classroom implementation Administer Universal Screener for K-3 Identify, implement, and monitor interventions for individual students (Tiers 2 & 3) Collect and report data on intervention effectiveness Model instructional strategies for teachers as needed Serve as an academic consultant to staff, parents, and administrators Collaborate with the Intervention & Referral Services (I&RS) committee to design and monitor student action plans Participate in meetings, conferences, and committees as assigned Perform additional duties within certification as assigned by administration Terms of employment: 10 month position Salary range: BA Step 1: $55,843 through PHD Step 18: $99,968 annual salary for the 2026�2027 school year, subject to adjustment based on experience.
