TEACHER of MILITARY SCIENCE / NJROTC PROGRAM
VACANCY FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR NAVAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR / NJROTC PROGRAM Wall High School The Wall Township School District is seeking a highly-motivated and energetic Navy, Coast Guard or Marine Corps retiree or veteran with a minimum of 8 years of service, O-3 to O-6, CWO-2 to CWO-5, WO-1, O-1, O-2, with prior enlisted service, to serve as a NJDOE Certified Naval Science Instructor located at Wall High School. The current program has grown to a recently awarded NJROTC status. The unit receives strong support from the School District, Township, and Veteran's groups and is looking to continue its growth and involvement with the overall community, and expand its extra curricular activities and offerings. The instruction and supervision is equally distributed between two instructors. Applicants must be team oriented and willing to share all day to day responsibilities. Responsibilities: Team-oriented and active in academic, drill, and athletic competitions Ongoing recruitment efforts and a focus on program growth and expansion Active presence in school and community events and functions Assignment for the 2026-2027 school year includes program needs assessment and recommendations, if appropriate. Teach courses as assigned Unit finances and supply Academic mentoring Cadet counseling Drill, Marksmanship, Orienteering, and Athletic Competitions Certifications: Valid NJ DOE Certification: Military Science - Required or Eligible The position is a 10 month contract.
